Recently, we rediscovered our old Fitch Bay recipe book, graciously written by the talented Christine Deschesnes. Throughout its pages, there is a variety of recipes that emphasize our Quebec lavender and how we can add this distinctive flavor to our meals.
It is said that this dessert has charmed many food lovers, so we couldn't keep you from this delicious discovery. Here, without further ado, is the famous lavender fudge. Enjoy!
Lavender Fudge
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon of Bleu Lavande lavender tea
- 1 can of sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cups of chocolate chips
- 3 teaspoons of butter
Preparation
Grind the lavender:
- Use a mortar and pestle to grind the lavender tea until finely ground.
Melt the ingredients:
- In a double boiler, add the sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, and ground lavender. Melt all the ingredients completely, stirring regularly until smooth.
Add the butter:
- Add the butter to the melted mixture and stir until well combined and smooth.
Refrigerate:
- Pour the mixture into a 9 x 9 inch pan, smooth the surface, and refrigerate overnight until the fudge is set.
Serve:
- Cut the fudge into squares. For an extra touch, you can sprinkle some lavender tea on top of the fudge!
